but some people. some experiences. make me think maybe just so.

like how a south african girl could be matched up so and intertwined with another, yet all the way with a oregon guy.

or how their lives and story thus far prepared themselves for each other in a very intimate and unique way. having gone through things that only they would know how to comfort and understand the other.

or how one could break his femur and be told he may not walk again, yet she is exactly the one who could understand how to get him back to health and be able to walk once more.

so i’m not sure about fate, but i do know there is a greater plan that we have nothing to do with.

when this plan comes into being and starts to work, i am amazed at these precious times i get to come in and here this story and feel just as a part of this story of fate.

callie and jake. she can only smile and speak good of him. and he fits her and loves her just the way she needs. 

to the mr. and mrs. 

the hallway from heaven. the beauty of having a wedding at a bed and breakfast.

i am blessed so much so when people like callie and jake find me. and weave me into their wedding story. that pick their dates around me, bring me south african magnets and sit down to speak encouragement to me at their own wedding receptions. my heart gets tied and images unquestionably impacted by these ties. i love those instances.

they’ve achieved to represent a brand most could only think of, encourage artistic community and manage to continually stay ahead of the game with their products. my post-processing has been so positively impacted by using their products.

SO. Im very tip toppy honored that they would feature me on their journal.

your schedule impacts your coverage incredibly. it just does. there’s no getting around it. 

so-so coverage and OMG coverage (i think) is completely impacted by your schedule.

i like it to be relaxed. give time to enjoy. let me think and create. let you enjoy it all. no rushing allowing. 

that much is for sure.

let me be involved. you’ll like the end result better.

and it was because of that, that i made friends from all over the world. including great girls from sweden. 

and it was because of that, that i went to sweden 3 years ago to visit them. my first camera, in tow. 

and it was because of that, that i began shooting. that i returned to the US, a photographer in heart.

so a lot of love is in my heart for Australia. i feel like so much in my life happened because i went there. amazing.

“have you been to melbourne?”  ”oh you gotta get there!” – I’ve been told many times. i always heard the best things about this city, i knew i had to get there.

so after my darling levi & esther’s wedding in Adelaide, i knew i had to get over to Melbourne. or, Mel-bun as the aussies say.

let me tell you, i adore. ADORE. this city. on the water, the architecture is amazing. design, beautiful. everything is centered around the river running through the city. shopping galore. and the ‘youngest’ feeling city i’ve probably ever been to. so many young people. i dont think i saw anyone over 35 my whole time there.

i only have good things to say about this city. apparently it is the best place for coffee as well, but nothing compares to seattle, so aussies really dont know.

melbourne, i will return. this was a wonderful introduction.

as i continue down my path, it becomes more and more evident…these are made for me. these weddings, where i see my bride across the airport. is that her? they bring me in, and i get the front seat view into their lives. days spent together. breakfasts. shopping. being right there as the days are counted down, leading to the day.

because i’ve learned, its one of the best ways to document truly. know them truly. and that comes with time. time spent together. i’ve had a taste and now it just seems there’s no better way to do it. the relationships I’m able to form, are unbeatable and changes the way I document them. 

gracious. easy going. they’ve been together for years, since their youth. there is so much security and shared life here. joined deep at the heart, they do not always have to be side by side. they just fit, they’ve become very muh a unit.

a beautiful day in the darling town of strathalbyn. bed and breakfasts. things done by hand. a perfectly relaxed and enjoyed day. there’s nothing better.

“it really makes me miss gramma desyl today. seeing the pictures of all the families in the residences rooms, makes me sad.”

i’ve had this want in the back of my brain for a long time. documenting our elderly loved ones, in their home, wherever they live. but its just remained an idea.

one of my biggest regrets as being a photographer, is that i wasn’t a photographer when my peppy, bright, independent and lively 104 year old great grandma was alive. that i wasn’t able to document her hands, her one eyebrow that was inevitably drawn on lower than the other. her smile. her pep. her belongings, that are now scattered between family members. i regret so much that i wasn’t a photographer when she was alive. i wish so badly i could have a book of photos that preserved her in her exact being and personality. i have a few of her things and her writing tattoo’d on my side. but that’s about it.

that type of thing. loved ones with so much history and life, needs to documented. for zillions of reasons.

so i cant go on without starting this ongoing personal project i’m calling “generations.” it just makes sense. i have the ability to document life, so why wouldn’t i. when the one thing i wish so badly i had, is a good photo of my gorgeous 104 great grandma.

so i need your help. i need eyes on this project and the willingness to send some information my way. see below for details.

because if i can, why wouldn’t i.

GENERATIONS

WHAT: an ongoing personal project documenting story and age. because you never can get that time back and images are of incredible value.

WHO: looking for “generations’ candidates over 80 years old or so. couples, singles, widows, whoever.

HOW: email me at (ShootMe@AndriaLindquist.com) who they are, a bit about them (1 paragraph is great) and where they reside. as well as general days of the week that would be good to come out.

WHEN: there will be no timeline, no amount i’m taking on. just when they come my way, when schedules align. I’ll drive to where they are.

WHERE: The greater Seattle area, possibly Portland and Spokane as well, as I travel there throughout the year. But mostly, the Seattle area.
